SERENITY

LOCATION : TAMAR PARK, ADMIRALTY, HONG KONG
YEAR :2014

Day after day, being confined in the forest of skyscrapers, struggling in the turbulence of life, is rarely do we have presence of mind to look into the sky, to savor the calmness, to dispel the coldness in our heart by the warming sun.
The ‘Serenity’ is designed for users to sit inside and observe the clear sky. “We shall let it release our soul from the crowd, to peace, to silence and to restfulness.”

VIDEOTAGE

LOCATION : Art Basel Exhibition 2016, HKCEC, Hong Kong

YEAR : 2016

We were commissioned by Art Basel to design a booth for crowd-funding of the exhibition.

We are extremely happy and honored to be designing the Crowd Funding booth for two pioneers of the art field: Art Basel(Switzerland) and Videotage (Hong Kong). The booth will be located on the 3F of the Art Basel Art Fair at the Hong Kong Convention Centre, Wanchai, from 22-26th March 2016. The booth will be showing casing video art works from 7 video art institutions in Europe and Videotage. It will also be housing the round-table discussions for the Art Basel Crowd Funding initiatives.

We wish to create a non-static booth. The booth can be construed as the simple interplay of two tectonic elements: the °ßframe°® and the °ßcubes°®. The °ßcubes°® houses the video art pieces and they are clad with mirrored plastic: thus they are effectively formless as they will be reflecting the scenes around them. The °ßframe°® is capturing these videos like a spider web, symbolizing the non static nature of video arts.

Although the project is relatively smaller comparing with the others that we have experienced, the design and planning process required tremendous efforts and dedication from all parties. All of our design reviews were conducted through Skype : a very interesting part of our design process: using video call to be creating a space for video art.

FAIR TASTE EXHIBITION BOOTH

(DESIGN&BUILD)

LOCATION : ‘EAT. DRINK. TRADE 2016’, HKCEC, HONG KONG
YEAR : 2016
SIZE : 150 SQFT

Fair Taste was an exhibition to expose the public about fair-trading and fair trade products. Consumers are educated that by purchasing fair trade products, it directly benefits the people that created the product, and not large corporate companies. Fair trade allows the workers in poverty at the very beginning of the production line to escape and earn their own money to gain a better living standard. We created a ladder to symbolize this path that these people may be living in very poor conditions, but through the support of consumers buying fair trade products, they can also climb higher and achieve a much more comfortable and humane living style. It allows these people to break free from the loop of profit that is only divided between these large corporations in our corrupted society.
